EMB Lodge
Feb 5-12, 2022 Week 5
5th week at Maria Behety Lodge just ended. It was a great fishing week. Low and clear water and a lot of fresh fish running into the river.
We had the visit of Ville, Jari, Kari and Karl from Finland; Mike, Larry and Chris from United States; Jerome and Colman from Ireland and Doug from England.
128 fish landed. Our friend Doug L. was top rod with 21 fish in the net! Karl landed the fish of the week: 22 pounds.
Water Conditions
Water color and visibility: Clear water
Water temperature: 6º C to 14ºC
Water level and amount of increase or decrease through the week: River dropped about 1 inch during this week.
Weather Conditions
Wind speed ranges through the week: West wind most of the days rotating to north some times. From 0 to 50 mph
Air temperature ranges through the week: 1ºC to 16ºC.
Fishing Conditions
Flies that are working the best: : Emb, red butt, prince nymph, RL copper John, wonder bug, yuk bug, girdle bug. Black wooly buggers, sunray shadow in different sizes, egg s. leech, intruders, Skagit minnow.
Big and black tube flies and intruders for the last 45 minutes of the day and with dirty water.
Green machine and sunray shadow worked well on floating and intermediate tips.
Fly lines (tips, heads, lengths, densities, etc) that are producing the best: Due the low water level i recommend to bring a Skagit head and a Scandi head with different tips.
Length and strength of tippet and leaders: 4 to 16 feet. 12 to 15 pounds.

Feb 12-19, 2022 Week 6
6th week at Maria Behety lodge was an excellent fishing week. This time we had the visit of Luis and Raul from a Argentina; Richard, Mike, Carl, Paul, Alan, Jim, Susan and Rich from United States; and Ian from Ireland. 145 fish landed. 33 over 15 pounds and 6 over 20 pounds. Rich Rubin was the top rod with 33 fish landed, including 10 fish over 15 pounds and 3 over 20 pounds. Rich Rubin and Susan O´neill landed the fish of the week: 23 pounds
Water Conditions
Water color and visibility: Very dirty water on Sunday and Monday due the 120 km/h wind we had on Sunday.
Water temperature: 5º C to 13ºC
Water level and amount of increase or decrease through the week: River dropped about 1 inch during this week.

Wind speed ranges through the week: 120 km/h on Sunday, the between 0 and 50 km/h. Air temperature ranges through the week: 4ºC to 15ºC.

Feb 19-26, 2022 Week 7
Another great fishing week just ended. This time we had the visit of Conor, Jay, Kevinn and Bruce from United States; Neil, Ian, John, Charlie, Ian, Angus, Andy and John from Scotland; and Gustavo from Uruguay.
120 fish landed this week. 34 fish over 15 pounds, including 4 fish over 20 pounds.Bruce Barbour was top rod with 16 fish in the net. Neil Tong landed the fish of the week: 22 pounds.
Water Conditions
Water color and visibility: Clear water.
Water temperature: 6º C to 15ºC
Water level and amount of increase or decrease through the week: Water level is low and dropping a little every week.
Weather Conditions
Wind speed ranges through the week: up to 60 km/h
Air temperature ranges through the week: 8ºC to 24ºC.
Fishing Conditions
Flies that are working the best: : Emb, red butt, prince nymph, RL copper John, wonder bug, yuk bug, girdle bug. Black wooly buggers, sunray shadow in different sizes, egg s. leech, intruders, Skagit minnow.
Lots of different nymphs in very small sizes (12, 14)

Feb 26-Mar 5, 2022 Week 8
We are slowly approaching the end of the season. Another week ended. It was our best week so far, talking about quantity and size of fish.
We had the visit of Tom, Bruce, Bob, Ron, Tom, Mike and John from United States; Carsten from Germany; Heinz from Switzerland and Jorg from Austria.
182 fish landed, 40 fish over 15 pounds including 7 fish over 20 pounds.
Carsten was top rod of the week with 26 fish in the net!
Our very good friend John V. landed the fish of the week and of the season: 27 pounds.
Water Conditions
Water color and visibility: Clear water until Friday.
Water temperature: 4º C to 9ºC
Water level and amount of increase or decrease through the week: Water level raised a little by Friday due a heavy rain up at the mountains.
Weather Conditions
Wind speed ranges through the week: up to 50 km/h
Air temperature ranges through the week: -2ºC to 15ºC.
Fishing Conditions
Flies that are working the best: : Emb, red butt, prince nymph, RL copper John, wonder bug, yuk bug, girdle bug. Black wooly buggers, sunray shadow in different sizes, egg s. leech, intruders, Skagit minnow.
