La Villa de EMB Lodge
Jan 1-8, 2022   Week 1

The fishing was slow, got better the last 3 days, the fish just start  coming in to the river. Floating lines were the best, with tubes flies. Sunray shadow was the best fly of the week.52 fish were landed,  9 fish over 15 pounds,  1 fish over 20 pounds , Average weight 8 pounds.
John thacher  was top rod of the week.
Bruce lino beretta  landed  the biggest fish.


Water Conditions
Water color and visibility: clear water.
Water temperature: 6 c to 13 c.
Water level: low.

Weather Conditions
Wind speed ranges through the week:the wind blows strong all week, most of the time northwest. Air temperature ranges through the week: 4 c to 16 c .
Weather observations (sun, rain, fog, etc.):wind blew from east first day and very strong.

Fishing Conditions
Flies that are working the best: emb, green machine ,tubes flies ( monkey, sunray shadows), salmon flies. Big flies for the last hour: big tube flies, leeches, intruders.
Fly lines (tips, heads, lengths, densities, etc) that are producing the best: Skagit heads with different lengths of T-17,14,11.
Scandi heads with floating a intermediate polyleaders.
Floating lines were the best, most of the times with tubes.
We recommend have more than one rod for fisherman, one rod with a scandi line and the other with the skagit,the scandi with floating and intermediate polyleader, and the skagit with different tips of t.
Nymph worked good with sinking lines, dead drifting, emb, rubber legs .
Length and strength of tippet and leaders: 9 to 14  feet. 15 to 20 pounds.
Lower and middle part of the river is the best, there are not many fish  in the upper part.  All fish are fresh .

La Villa de EMB Lodge
Jan 8-15, 2022   Week 2

The Fishing got better the first 2 days, then we had 3 days with 100 km of wind, after that got difficult. We recommend at 2 rods, 1 with floating and the other one with sinking lines.
Sinking lines were the best, with big flies and tubes.
Sunray shadow and diferent kind of intruders were  the best flies of  the week. 65 fish were landed,  10 fish over 15 pounds,  2 fish over 20 pounds , Average weight 8.5 pounds.
Helgi gudbrandsson was top rod of the week.
Johann birgisson and orn sigurhansson landed  the biggest fish.

Water Conditions
Water color and visibility: clear water, it was colored by the strong wind of 3 days .
Water temperature: 6 c to 13 c.
Water level: low.

Weather Conditions
Wind speed ranges through the week:the wind blows strong all week, most of the time northwest, 3 days with 100 km of wind. Air temperature ranges through the week: 2c to 20 c . Wheather observations (sun, rain, fog, etc.):wind blew very strong for 3 days, up to 100 km

Fishing Conditions
Flies that are working the best:big leeches and intruders,   tube flies ( monkey, sunray shadows). Big flies for the last hour: big tube flies, leeches, intruders. Fly lines (tips, heads, lengths, densities, etc) that are producing the best: Skagit heads with different lengths of T-17,14,11.
Sinking  lines were the best, most of the times with big flies.
Length and strength of tippet and leaders: 6 to 12  feet. 12 to 15 pounds.
Lower and middle part of the river is the best, there are not many fish  in the upper part.  All fish are fresh .

La Villa de EMB Lodge
Jan 15-23, 2022   Week 3

South wind the first morning, in the afternoon river rose and got dirty, this made fishing difficult until last two days, Thursday the river had already cleared up and the fishing improved.
We recommend  at list 2 rods, 1 with floating and the other one with sinking lines.
Sinking lines were the best, with big flies and tubes.
Sunray shadow was  the best fly of  the week. 42 fish were landed,  9 fish over 15 pounds,  no fish over 20 pounds , Average weight 8 pounds.
Sasha Savic was top rod of the week and landed the biggest fish.

Water Conditions
Water color and visibility: dirty until Thursday then got clear  .
Water temperature: 6 c to 12 c.
Water Level:  low

Weather Conditions
Wind speed ranges through the week:the wind was not strong, blew some days from the northeast.  Air temperature ranges through the week: 6c  to 18 c . Weather observations (sun, rain, fog, etc.):the wind change direction every day

Fishing Conditions
Flies that are working the best:big leeches and intruders,   tube flies ( monkey, sunray shadows), nymph ( emb, prince, red tail) Big flies for the last hour: big tube flies, leeches, intruders. Fly lines (tips, heads, lengths, densities, etc) that are producing the best: Skagit heads with different lengths of T-17,14,11. Sinking  lines were the best,big flies until the river drop, then small nymph.. Length and strength of tippet and leaders: 6 to 12  feet. 12 to 15 pounds. Lower and middle part of the river is the best, there are not many fish  in the upper part.  All fish are fresh .

Total number of fish landed for the week: 42.
Weight of the biggest fish landed for the week:18 pounds.
Number of fish landed over 15 pounds: 9.
Number of fish landed over 20 pounds:0.
Average size: 8.
Notable catches: some 15 plus in Julia pool with dirty water.

 

La Villa de EMB Lodge
Jan 23-29, 2022   Week 4

Great week at la villa is ending, the fishing was very good, nice weather and most of the fish were caught with floating and intermediate lines. All fresh fish, the river is getting full of fish. The best technique for fishing was short and fast stripping with floating and intermediate lines, most of the time using salmon flies, green machine, tubes flies. We recommend  2 rods, 1 with floating and the other one with sinking lines.
Floating with intermediate poly leaders were the best with small nymph( red tail, emb, prince), tube flies (sunray shadows, micro tubes, monkeys), small salmon flies size 8,10. Sunray shadow was  the best fly of  the week. 128 fish were landed,  25 fish over 15 pounds,  2  fish over 20 pounds , Average weight 9,3 pounds.

Collin goh was top rod of the week.
Collin goh landed  the biggest fish, 23 pounds

Water Conditions
Water color and visibility: clear .
Water temperature: 7 c to 12 c.
Water level: low.

Weather Conditions
Wind speed ranges through the week:the wind was not strong.
Air temperature ranges through the week: 6c  to 18 c .
Weather observations (sun, rain, fog, etc.): pleasant weather.

Fishing Conditions
Flies that are working the best:salmon flies size 8,10,   tube flies ( monkey, sunray shadows), nymph ( emb, prince, red tail) , green machine,Big flies for the last hour: big tube flies, leeches, intruders. Fly lines (tips, heads, lengths, densities, etc) that are producing the best: Skagit heads with different lengths of T-17,14,11. Scandi lines with intermediate poly leaders.
Length and strength of tippet and leaders: 6 to 12  feet. 12 to 15 pounds. Lower and middle part of the river is the best, we start to see more fish in the upper part of the river.
All fish are fresh .

Notable catches: many book fish with floating lines and small salmon flies.
