Argentina Entry and Exit Requirements- updated

As expected, Covid related requirements to enter Argentina have changed a few times. Here is the latest as of Feb 20, 2022.

PRIOR TO ARRIVAL  (Applies to all foreigners entering Argentina)

  • Proof of full vaccination (vaccination card showing you got all the doses, depending on what vaccine you’ve chosen). Must have received the complete course at least 14 days prior to arrival.
  • Negative Viral Test Result Travelers must have a negative pre-departure COVID-19 test result. Travelers can have a PCR test result from a test taken a maximum of 72 hours before departure or an antigen test result from a test taken a maximum of 48 hours before departure to Argentina.
  • Health insurance with COVID-19 coverage
UnitedHealthcare and Allianz have economic single or annual plans that cover medical, travel and quarantine costs related being infected with COVID-19. Global Rescue does as well and you can email Dan for a quote: dchomko@globalrescue.com  You can also get a policy through our specialized travel agent.
  • Migrations affidavit https://ddjj.migraciones.gob.ar/app/home.php
Travelers must complete and submit this within 48 hours prior to boarding the flight to Argentina. Travelers may be required to present the confirmation e-mail they receive from this system to board a flight. Before you begin, watch the instructional video HERE.  Have on hand your passport, flight information and a pdf version of  the three items above. The form is available in Spanish and partly in English. Travelers 70 years and older may complete the form upon arrival in Argentina.
If the English version does not produce the confirmation email, complete the Spanish version of the form. Still trouble? Try a different browser.

Unvaccinated foreign travelers are allowed to enter Argentina under strict limitations, including quarantine.

UPON RETURN TO THE US.

  • Negative Antigen Test All travelers regardless of their vaccination status must have an original printed or electronic negative COVID-19 viral test result (NAAT: RT-PCR, RT-LAMP, TMA, NEAR, HDA, SDA, CRISPR, or Antigen: Rapid, Viral, Antigen Chromatographic Digital Immunoassay, Antigen Chemiluminescence Immunoassay, or Antigen Lateral Flow Fluorescence). The test must be taken a maximum of 1 day before the first scheduled departure time in the flight itinerary (if a flight is at 1 pm on a Friday, travelers could board with a COVID-19 negative test that was taken any time on the prior Thursday). Test results must include the traveler’s full name and at least one other identifier such as date of birth or passport number. The test must also clearly state that the results are “negative,” SARS-CoV-2 RNA not detected,” SARS-CoV-2 antigen not detected,” or “COVID-19 not detected.” A test marked invalid” is not acceptable. This requirement applies to all travelers, including US citizens, residents, and transit travelers. Travelers may use a self-test (sometimes referred to as a home test) that meets the given criteria.
  • Proof of full vaccination (vaccination card showing you got all the doses, depending on what vaccine you’ve chosen). Must have received the complete course at least 14 days prior to arrival.

  • US Required Attestation and Airline Apps
Depending on the airline you might need to download an app. American requires the VERIFLY app, United allows you to upload Covid information into their app and Delta has the  FlyReady app. It will make checking and boarding the plane easier and faster.  The app will require your record locator, and then to upload in PDF format, the negative test, and then to complete the US affidavit.

If you do not wish to download an app, or have trouble with it, simply print 2 copies of the form in the link above with you to Argentina and sign them before you board your flight home.
