January 18-25, 2020  

Another week on Argentina’s Rio Grande is over. Fishing was quite difficult and hard some sessions so we worked very hard to catch some fish. The week began with high water with a little color. By the end of the week the river was low and clear water.
94 fish landed, 11 of them were over 15 pounds.

Water Conditions
Water color and visibility: At the beginning of the week the river was dropping down an clearing up. Water visibility improved a little every day. Low and clear water by Friday.
Water temperature: 6° C and 14° C
Water level and amount of increase or decrease through the week: Water level dropped 6-7 inches during the week.

Weather Conditions
Wind speed ranges through the week: It was windy this week. 0 to 80 kmh
Air temperature ranges through the week: 7°C to 18°C

Fishing Conditions
Flies that are working the best: : Fly of the week was EMB. Small size nymphs like TDF prince, prince nymph, red tail. Also yuk bugs and wooly buggers. Big flies for the  last 30 minutes in the evening: Intruders, tube flies and articulated leeches.
Green machine and sunray shadow worked well on floating and intermediate tips.
Fly lines (tips, heads, lengths, densities, etc) that are producing the best: We used everything between floating and 15 feet of T-20.
Length and strength of tippet and leaders: 4 to 12 feet. 15 to 20 pounds.

Total number of fish landed for the week: 94
Weight of the biggest fish landed for the week: 19
Number of fish landed over 15 pounds: 11
