Estancia Tres Lagos & Caleufu River, Expedition/Lodge Combo
Nov 23 – Dec 2, 2018
The Filo Hua Hum and Caleufu Rivers are two of Patagonia’s most picturesque rivers that offer prime dry fly fishing for 17-19in Brown’s and Rainbow. If you join us the November, you will be fishing both rivers at their peak times.
On the first half of this Expedition/Lodge Combo, you’ll spend 4 nights/3 days at Estancia Tres Lagos fishing the New Zealand-like “Filo”, its tributary Arroyo Quieto and the Filo Hau Hum and Nuevo Lakes. Then we’ll drive just a few miles downstream to where to Filo Hua Hum River becomes the Caleufu River and start a 3 night/4 day float trip.
The Filo receives relatively little pressure because of it’s somewhat remote location, private waters and it’s crystal clear, technical waters that deter less skilled anglers. This is a wade only fishery where sight fishing is the norm. The Rainbows and Browns of the Caleufu River offer themselves more easily yet only anglers willing the float it for three nights are able to access the river in its entirety.
If you are looking for a unique Patagonia fishing experience, like targeting Brown Trout, enjoy multiday rivers trips and are able to travel between November and early January then this trip is right for you.
