I have fished all over Patagonia and in multiple countries in the last 30 years and I’m confident than anyone will find Portillen Lodge a very special place. (Speaking of special, Portillen in now on sale, so check out our Specials page for details.)
Is not easy to find in one lodge that has large, medium and small trout waters with almost no fishing pressure. Our home waters on the Quillén River offer 10 miles of exceptional dry fly fishing where anglers can float or walk and wade. Just 30 minutes away the Aluminé River has several sections to satisfy the desire to float a large, scenic river. But for people who really like wading technical dry fly waters, the crystal clear Malalco creek is a dream. Located at 20 minutes from the lodge, this is a small, rarely fished creek surrounded by forests. The Rio Pulmarí is another technical stream neighboring El Portillén. Bigger than the Malalco and smaller than the Quillén, The Pulmarí is a boulder filled river with everything from forests to open areas to heavy, slow deep and shallow water. It is one of the more beautiful rivers in Patagonia.
Different waters, different fishing styles, all in the same place. And there is almost no one else fishing here. Now that we have a nice place to stay, we welcome you to join us.
